On our way to lunch this week on St Denis street, we stopped at Arthur Quentin for our annual visit, Arthur Quentin is renown as a premiere housewares boutique that has been around since 1975. Every time I am in the neighborhood, this is a definite pit stop for me. It houses some the nicest cotton linens, original dishware, flatware and houseware one can find in the city. The Boutique is quite prestigious and has a reputation of being one of the city’ s best. All items are very exclusive, original and beautifully displayed. Although pricy, to own something from Arthur Quentin is like finding gold in a goldmine. Many famous people shop here and come from afar for its valued service and quality. This place is fantastic to purchase that special gift for the foodie or just treat yourself to something that tickles your fancy.

Kusmi Tea is a trademark company that was started in Paris in 1917. The origins of the founder of Kusmi Tea date as far back as 1867, in St. Petersburg Russia. Originally started by Pavel M. Kousmichoff about 150 years ago. When he was fourteen and working at a tea merchant he learned the art of blending tea. He then opened later in life 11 more teahouses that expanded into an empire. After the expansion to Paris, Berlin and North America, the company moved hands through generations. Unfortunately, hard times saw little success and the family sold it for nothing in 1972. In 2003 the Orebi family who specialized in coffee & cocoa importing bought it over and in 2005 Sylvain Orebi, rebranded it to what it is today and opened up a shop in Montreal. Aside from the Boutique on St Denis that sells the brand exclusively, limited quantities or some of the brand more popular teas can be found in some quality supermarkets like 5 Saison or other tea houses on Laurier and about town. But the St Denis location is a great place to sample their brand in a modern clean relaxed setting. My favorite is the Anastasia, also on the pricy side, some will set you back anywhere from $11.50 for a tea bag to $99.00 for a 500g tin. But its well worth it.
